What’s new at Fellowship*? A missional strategy.

It might be best to start with what isn’t new. Our vision and mission are what they have always been: to lead people to experience new birth in Christ, a new life in the Spirit, and a new church that is making impact worldwide and on the streets of Springfield.

The challenge we face is to carry this vision to our community - the people we interact with every day, in every corner of the county. Friends, neighbors, relatives, coworkers: they all have divine potential and a deep need for new life/birth/church. How can we link our vision with the people of our neighborhoods?

We believe that God has given us a strategy to connect our neighbors to the vision, to accomplish our mission - something we refer to as “Link*.” This Link* strategy is “what’s new.”

Link* isn’t so much a program or an outreach, it is a culture. It is a way of life that commits to using every available avenue for the mission Jesus gave us. It means starting new things. It means giving some things up. It means doing many of the things we do well even better. Ultimately, our prayer is that it means a harvest among the 150,000 souls in our community.

The first step in this strategy is a new video-venue service in our Worship Warehouse, named “link*one.” This service launched October 3, 2010 at 11 am. It features a casual, relational atmosphere, intimate worship, and Sunday’s sermon on a giant HD screen. It’s a new place to bring our friends and neighbors who might not otherwise visit a church, and it is a launching pad for what we hope will be many more “link*” communities throughout our city and even the world.
